ANDREAS NOTTEBOHM

Into the Light

January 12 - February 16, 2008

Opening Reception January 12, 2008

6:00 - 8:00 pm

Andreas Nottebohm, whose newest show opens on January 12th, is a master of creating three-dimensional sculpture space on a flat metal plane.

During the last few years his work has become dramatically simpler and yet more astounding with hard-edged horizons floating seemingly several feet in front of the picture plane that they are one with.

Although the landscape-like horizon metal paintings will still be a big part of his new work, Andreas will also present pieces that are more object-like with floating geometric shapes and iconic target designs with rings both receding and projecting forward into space.

Nottebohm has also continued to reintroduce color into his pure metal paintings adding an element of atmosphere or aerial perspective to these bold geometric inventions.

His work has been recently added to the collections of Oakland Museum of California, Crocker Art Museum of Sacramento, CA and Nevada Art Museum in Reno, NV.

His recent shows include Embassies Exhibition in La Paz, Bolivia and Russeck Gallery in San Francisco.

This promises to be Andreas Nottebohm’s most amazing show yet, an event not to be missed.
